Features

A platform structured in 3 levels of usage

The Phemium for Telemedicine platform is structured in 3 levels of usage:

  • User portals: user portals are focused on delivering high quality experiences to the users (patients or professionals) and multiple communication channels for the various workflows of teleconsultation, remote diagnostics, remote assistance or telerehabilitación. They can be configured and customized from the administration portal or created made-to-measure from scratch.
  • Professional console: the console allows the management of consultations, appointments and customers as well as personal interaction with the customer.
  • Administration portal: the administration portal is designed to allow complete configuration and management of services, professionals, pacients as well as workflows. It also allows monitoring and control the activity (statistics, quality of service).
Interactive communication

The Phemium for Telemedicine platform uses the latest advances in Internet and communications to provide patients with multiple interactive communication channels:

  • Types of consultation: Immediate or scheduled synchronous consultations (videoconferences and audioconferences), asynchronous consultations (messages)
  • Types of calls: web audioconferencing (PC webcalls) or optional telephone audioconferencing (clic2call), web videoconferencing (PC video webcall) with optional audio over the phone, both with chat and interactivity during the call (document sharing)
  • Symmetric consultation space on the web: a place where the patients can view any exchange made in a consultation. This space allows asynchronous queries (exchange of messages, documents, manage appointments) and serves as the historic of the consultation. It provides access to the historic of all consultations and to the patient's personal account. Each exchange generates a notification by email or SMS.
Services and workflow management

Workflow management

The Phemium for Telemedicine platform allows the administrator to manage the services and processes of his Telemedicine workflow:

  • Services management: the administrator manages the services offered, the professionals providing these services and the customers and groups of customers using them.
  • Workflow management: the administrator defines the workflows and creates the user portals where services are provided (type of portal, services, types of consultation, types of calls, forms, satisfaction surveys etc.). Phemium allows a high level of customization of the workflows and the design of the portals.

Access control and products:

For the services and the workflows that require it, Phemium allows the management of the registering, access control and transactions:

  • Registration: you can manage the registration and access to services for patients or groups of patients.
  • Products and access control: you can create products such as minutes of consultation or number of consultations with expiration date and manage access control (privileges) for groups of patients to these products.
  • Payment products: you can ask for the payment of these products through Paypal or any other payment gateways though integration. Coupons can also be generated.
  • Credit management and balance: you can manage credits and balances of patient groups and patients.

Create multiple telemedicine scenarios

Phemium is an open platform that serves as an accelerator engine for Telemedicine projects. Thanks to its comprehensive library of APIs and integration of own or third party applications (APPs), Androme Iberica can customize the Phemium platform and create different experiences adapted to any scenarios of teleconsultation. Several scenarios can coexist withiin the same customer account. Each project comes with an administration portal that allows dayly management of the services.

Supervision and control:

The administrator monitors the activity from the administration portal (backoffice). Phemium provides in real time all the detailed information needed to optimize the activity: real-time monitoring and status of the consultations, consultation duration and productivity per portal, per service and per professional and allows the control of the quality of service through satisfaction surveys and recordings of consultations. Phemium for Telemedicine also produces reports of revenues for payment products.

Technologies

Phemium APIs

Phemium provides 3 levels of APIs (data APIs, objects APIs and widgets APIs) for all parts of Phemium (portals, console and backoffice) to the companies who need to make integrations of any complexity, where either the speed of implementation or a complete freedom of customization is needed. In addition, the SIP communications technology Phemium uses meets strictly all standards defined. Common integrations include integration with a medical history, etc.. HD cameras and other special devices can also be adapted.

Phemium APPs:

Phemium facilitates the integration of applications developed by Androme or 3rd party companies to extend the functionality of the platform and to offer an optimal solution to each scenario of Telemedicine. The Phemium APPs are accessible from the console during consultations and in some cases also from the customers' portals. For example, a professional can examine and make notes on a document from a viewer of digitized medical images integrated into the console during a call, and share his view and notes with the customer.

Telecommunications:

Phemium for Telemedicine allows web based flash calls (patient portal) to VoIP (professional console), or from VoIP (patient portal or professional console) to VoIP professional console. The console can receive simultaneous inbound PSTN calls, and could place outbound calls through integration.

All inclusive and scalable economic model

SaaS model and licenses:

The Phemium for Telemedicine platform is provided in a full SaaS (Software as a service) and in an inHouse SaaS models, in the latter case with an installation cost and annual maintenance cost.  In both cases, licensing costs are based on the number of professionals using Phemium, independently from the number of customers or consultations handled. Two licensing models are available: named user licenses and concomitant user connection licenses.

Training and support:

Phemium for Telemedicine is provided with online help tools and with second level support during business hours. More support options such as 24/7 can be provided on demand. Initial set-up and training are available on request and can be adjusted to the clients and projects requirements.

Infrastructure, security and requirements

Infrastructure:

Phemium for Telemedicine is provided in a SaaS model. The SaaS includes the maintenance of the infrastructure, support during business hours and upgrades. End-to-end communications are secure with encrypted communication and secure identification, and pays special attention to data protection policies required when manipulating data of customers. For more safety and confidentiality control, it is also provided in a InHouse SaaS model.

Technical requirements for the patients:

The Phemium for Telemedicine platform is accessible through the web. The patients will access the web portal of Phemium for Telemedicine from any Windows/Mac computer with internet connection. Most recent browser and flash versions are compatible, and when not the case, the patients are informed and invited to upgrade to the most recent version. Phemium allows audio / video communication in various level of quality, but the system automatically adjusts the communication possibilities to the bandwidth available in the background.

Technical requirements for the professionals:

Professionals need a Windows computer, a microphone / speaker and a webcam to provide the service. The vast majority of today's desktop PCs meet the minimum requirements (graphics card, RAM and processor speed). The needs of bandwidth vary greatly depending on the level of quality of service to be offered, as these can range from audio to video conferencing in high definition, with 1 or more simulateneous calls. We recommend a minimum of 120 Kbps per concurrent video call.

The professionals' computers should allow SIP and RTP traffic. Depending on the security settings of each network infrastructure (mostly firewall), it might be necessary to change some settings to allow communication to these ports.
